I Still Haven't Got the Rings

Congratulations to Uncle Chris and Aunt Marcie! They got married in Des Moines this past weekend, and Holyn, Max and Lant had the pleasure of being in the wedding. Holyn looked like a princess as one of the flower girls, Max was all business when it came to marching down the aisle as ring bearer and Lant ushered in their guests. I had to laugh, as they started the ceremony, it began to down pour, followed by a loud clap of thunder. Max kept saying to us, "when am I going to get the rings?" We let him know that his role was part of the ceremony and he wouldn't actually get to carry their wedding bands. Even on the drive home to Indiana on Sunday he said disgusted, "I never did get to see the rings". Here are a couple of pictures I got that night. Wish I would have taken more. I do have to say, the kids lit up the dance floor at the reception. Holyn even broke her shoe doing "her moves". Both kids have been practicing in the kitchen while I cook dinner. Their favorite song had to be "Single Ladies". Even Max knew how to put a ring on it! They tired out early, but had a great time dancing with everyone.

Incredible Pizza, I Mean Dancing

We had a great time catching up with our DM friends and meeting their kiddos at Incredible Pizza today. I loved seeing the little versions of the Langenfeld's, Douglas' and Boesen's. Max found a new buddy in Jack, someone who can match his endless energy. Holyn kicked butt at the go carts, bringing home a 1st place trophy to add to her collection. Lizzie and Ryder played hard in the little kids area, my two wanted to tag along but are getting too big to run through the tubes like they used to. I really enjoyed watching Griffin, who took an interest in the dancing game while the others raced. The kid has rhythm Betsy! Thanks guys for joining us, it was wonderful to see all of you again. (Pause Playlist on the side of the blog to hear the video).

Don't Ya Hate It When That Happens....

On Saturday, Mr. Max started T-ball. This time, he is about the oldest kid on the team and knows the ropes. Holyn is also back in the swing of baseball, and is holding her own as the only girl on the team. We are really thankful for their wonderful coaches, and their sense of humor too. They're gonna need it with our two.
Well, while Max's team had their first practice, Holyn hung out on the play ground and played on the monkey bars. And she has the blisters to prove it. So, when it came to her practice on Sunday afternoon, her hands were a bit sore. As Holyn stepped up to the plate to have batting practice she tells her coach this: "I got blisters yesterday from the monkey bars and they kinda hurt. Don't ya just hate it when YOU do that?" To which he replied, "Yes, yes I do."
So glad he passed that gem onto Lant and I.

How Much Do You Love Me, Let Me Count The Ways

Today at Pre-school Max convinced his two 5 year old classmates to talk about their feelings for him. This is the conversation according to Max (sometimes an unreliable source):

Max: "Guys tell me how much you love me".
Eliza: "I love you one bit".
Trinity (his self professed girlfriend): "I love you 5 bits".

Seeming satisfied with their responses he moved on to more pressing topics I'm sure. Probably something that involved burping or running. Wish I could have witnessed the exchange.

Happy Easter

Thank you to our wonderful neighbors, Beckie and Jim for inviting us over for Easter. After Church, we had a lovely meal together and desserts too. Followed by an Easter Egg Hunt in their backyard. Max found the golden egg, Holyn scored the silver egg and their dogs found a couple jelly bean filled eggs too. Note to self: chocolate although very tasty, is not a great choice to stuff in eggs out in the sun or near dogs.
