No, I don't use Botox

Max had a little slip yesterday on the playground monkey bars. I was talking to Holyn's teacher when he came running towards me with a mouth full of blood. I really hate that moment before you assess the damage and the fear it being really bad. He lost his footing and bumped his mouth against the bars. He explained it to me as this "Mom, I slipped and I had to choose between hurting my mouth and hurting my pp". I guess we know which way he decided. We went to the ER, but thankfully no stitches needed, he does have a chunk bit out next to his right eye tooth. Take a look at the before and after. This morning he woke up, looked in the mirror and exclaimed "Wow, I look like (Val Kilmer as) Batman! He even grabbed his Halloween mask from his bedroom to check it out. Lant told him people in Hollywood pay good money to look like Max does right now.

The Future's So Bright!

Not only is she a dancer, athlete and actress, she gets good grades too. Holyn brought home her 3rd 9-weeks report card yesterday and she has again made the honor roll for straight A's! We are so very proud of our girl. Just had to gush about her again, way to go Holyn!! Keep up the fabulous work.

Magical Mexican Jumping Bean

Our resident thespian (Holyn), tested her craft this weekend by portraying a "Magical Mexican Jumping Bean" in her school play of Jack and the Beanstalk. The Missoula Children's Theater is a traveling theater company that works with schools all over the country to produce a play with an elementary school in just one week! Tryouts for the 60 parts were this past Monday and by this Saturday, they had 2 shows for us. It was adorable. Holyn thought her costume was a little less than glamorous, I told her she looked like a Mexican Ninja. At least I got her to laugh. I took video of her part, but unfortunately I cannot get it to load correctly. So instead, enjoy the pictures of Holyn before and after the final curtain call. Ole'

Kicking and Screaming

Max has been playing soccer at our local YMCA and loving it. We soon realized that every time he starts to run, he gives a "Woo Hoo" yell and takes off. His favorite part is the kicking along with all the running they get to do. I took his team picture on Saturday (because I haven't been thrilled with the studio that does the team photos). Maybe I have a new line of work ahead of me. Who knows when I'll work that into the schedule. (Back to the game) Max scored a goal this week and two goals last week. He sometimes plays as goalie, but it's hard for him to stay in one place while the other kids run everywhere. Hard to keep a good kid down!
