Pinky Out

Holyn and I attended an English Tea at the local floral shop and loved it. We dressed up in our finest tea party outfits, including hats. They served us little tea sandwiches, desserts and strawberries. And Tea, which Holyn has anxious to try. She added two sugar cubes and cream, just to make it sweeter. Then she did her best to lift the cup and keep her pinky out while she sipped. After the snacks, Holyn won best dressed at the event and took home a fluffy pink pen that resembled a septer. Holyn thanked all the little people in her life as we left. Look out Miss America!

Stop Kicking the Bed!!

As you might already know, there was an earthquake in Illinois this morning. I awoke to the bed shaking and immediately thought one of the kids had wandered into my bedroom and was laying beside the bed. To my surprise no one was on the floor kicking the bed! I felt the bed continue to shake quickly for another few seconds, and I was ready to get off that ride! When I later got up, Lant said he felt something while he was in our basement at 5:40 AM too. We turned on the Today Show and realized we had experienced our first earthquake. Clear out here in Indiana! The kids, well they slept right through it.

Gone to the Dogs

Holyn accompanied me to the dentist office yesterday and carefully watched the hygenist clean my teeth. She also checked out the rest of the office. When the dentist came in to check my teeth, Holyn found the models of teeth and asked the hygenist what they were. She said, "What are those long teeth for?" The lady replied "that is a model of your molar teeth, and then you have the K9 teeth and so on." Holyn paused a moment and said, "OH, so you guys do dog's teeth too!" The dentist and I burst out laughing.

Reach Out & Touch Someone

And so it starts, our little lover boy is now getting phone calls from girls. I don't know if it was an April Fool's gag or what. Holyn answered the phone while I was upstairs and came up yelling "it's Tessa, it's Tessa on the phone". I laughed because the only Tessa we know is in Max's preschool class. I answered the phone and sure enough she asked for Max. I was a little shocked and muttered "Ok, I'll get him". I gave Max the phone and said who it was and he grabbed the phone like he was expecting it. He starts "Hi Tessa, soooo... what are you doing?" Followed by a long pause, then "hey, guess what, I'm upside-down. Yeah!" I was proud to say he didn't give her the brush off and say I'll call ya later, he ends it saying "gotta go now, bye". I couldn't help but take a picture of this.
